Headline of The Straits Times SPORTS dated 3 December 2007,

“First-time marathoner Khoo raises $8,000 for ST School Pocket Money Fund”.

The article stated : “not only did she finish in a creditable 4hr 15min, she also raised at least $8,100 for the Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund. Moved by the plight of needy students, she signed up for the run knowing full well the fatigue and body aches it brings.

ChildAid highlighted  that there was more than 100,000 school children who did not have enough money to go to school nor buy food at recess. Some had to walk long distances to attend school. Despite feeling weak, tired and hungry, they did not have  money to buy food.

The ST SPMF aims to provide for these children from low-income families.

The plight of these innocent and poor children prompted me to post donations annually, in order to give a smile to these young kids.
